UDig Completes WOSB Certification
May 1, 2011 RICHMOND, VA - UDig, an information technology staffing company with offices in Virginia and North Carolina, announces that it is now certified as a Women-Owned Small Business (WOSB) in the new Small Business Administration (SBA) WOSB Contract Program.
"We are thrilled to participate in the new WOSB Federal Contract Program. "The program will fill an important role in giving woman-owned businesses the opportunity to compete for federal contracts," said Susan Frank, UDig's Chief Executive Officer. "UDig is excited to be certified and we are looking forward to building our business in the federal contract space."
About the WOSB Federal Contract Program
The SBA announced the program in late 2010 and participation information was released February 4, 2011. The WOSB Federal Contract Program will provide greater access to federal contracting opportunities for WOSBs and economically-disadvantaged women-owned small businesses (EDWOSBs). The Program allows contracting officers, for the first time, to set aside specific contracts for certified WOSBs and EDWOSBs and will help federal agencies achieve the existing statutory goal of five percent of federal contracting dollars being awarded to WOSBs.
