The New Guy in Hampton Roads…Employee Spotlight…George Sirris

17 Apr

GeorgeSirrisAs many of you may know,  UDig recently expanded into new office space off of Cleveland Street in Virginia Beach. Now, we’re growing in numbers!  As of March 18th, our team has expanded! We are happy to welcome George Sirris as UDig’s newest Technical Recruiter.

George grew up in Virginia Beach and after attending George Mason University settled down in Fairfax.  Before long, George was ready to get back to the beach and away from the traffic. UDig was lucky enough to bring him on board!

After training in Richmond, George has joined us here in the Hampton Roads office. It’s a great addition for me – the office can get awfully quiet during the day when Aaron Snead is out on appointments. It’s great to have someone else to bounce ideas off of and brainstorm with in person. We’re all looking forward to continuing to grow UDig’s brand in the Hampton Roads area.

Here is a little bit more about George…

Where are you from?

Virginia Beach, VA

What is your education background?

I graduated with a degree in Business Management from George Mason University.

Where did you work before UDig? How did you wind up at UDig and how long have you worked here?

I worked for an IT Government Contractor in Northern Virginia called Link Solutions, Inc. I eventually made the move back to Virginia Beach and began working a temporary position at Liberty Tax doing Technical Support. This led to me receiving a call from Kelsey Champion for an IT position in Norfolk. During the interview I managed to convince her that I would be a good fit at UDig instead. I’ve been working at UDig for almost a month now.

What is the most challenging part of your day?

Definitely time management.

Five things we don’t know about you…

  1. I love playing and watching basketball.
  2. I’m a fan of all New York Teams including the Knicks, Giants, Mets, and Rangers.
  3. I’m a huge fan of classic movies. A few being Hook, The Sandlot, The Goonies, Indiana Jones, and Star Wars.
  4. I’m 100% Greek. I am the first generation born in the U.S.
  5. Favorite Music Group: N.E.R.D.

Welcome George!
