Random Acts of Kindness

23 Dec

Aaron SneadAs we get closer to the holiday season, it is important to remember those in need. Last month, Aaron Snead and I were driving through Norfolk, when we spotted a homeless man sleeping on a park bench, trying to keep warm with a few blankets. It was a chilly 40 degrees that day, and seeing this man in this unfortunate circumstance really had a great impact on us both. It almost seemed like there was no hesitation in what happened next. We saw a man in need, and both knew that if we could make a difference in that man’s day, we would. After stopping at the nearest convenient store, we went and dropped off some hot cocoa, waters, and food for this man.

During my time working at UDig, I’ve come to realize that this kind of character is a huge part of our corporate culture. A lot of UDig process is formed around genuinely caring for people’s well-being, and that is why we’re so successful in what we do. Day in and day out, we’re in the business of helping people better themselves.

Take some time out of your day, and do something you don’t typically do. Help those in need this holiday season, and know that even the smallest actions, can have a huge impact on people’s lives.
