August 2020 Women in Technology of Tennessee (WiTT) announced the winner of its WiTT College Scholarship as RePublic High School graduating senior, Nyakuoth “Nya” Jock, of Nashville. February 2020 Our EVP of Tennessee joined Cindy Baier, President & CEO of Brookdale Senior Living, as moderator for a Q&A session to discuss leadership, gender diversity, technology in business, and more. Meg serves as the President of Women in Technology of Tennessee, which hosted the event.
January 2020 We’ve landed in Music City! We are excited to announce that Meg Chamblee and Matt Dean have joined our Executive team and will be leading the charge in building out our Nashville, Tennessee branch. Both boast extensive experience in IT and most recently, grew a technology consulting operation from the ground up while at a multi-billion dollar international company.
November 2019 Consultants Matt Taylert and Jacob Ferraiolo from our Advanced Insights practice presented at November’s RVA Data Science Meetup. The two shared our recent engagement with the Virginia Public Access Project and how text analytics reduced a previously manual effort to deduplicate data.
October 2019 Several UDig team members attended RVATech’s annual Women in Technology conference. Speakers presented on topics including quiet leadership, Robotic Process Automation, authenticity in management, and more. As has been the case for the last several years, it was a high energy conference with insightful content shared.
October 2019 UDig hosted its first internal hackathon, dubbed “Solution Evolution”, at its headquarters office. The team was divided into smaller groups and asked to develop a solution that measures employee sentiment in a non-taxing way. David Gallagher, Richard Wintsch and Ed Cook volunteered their time to judge final presentations and select a winning project. This was a great opportunity for the group to collaborate, flex their innovative muscles and fine tune their presentation skills.
September 2019 ‘Best Use of Natural Language Processing’ was our challenge this year at VCU’s RamHacks, a 24-hour programming marathon. Our team enjoyed working with students from many different universities and reviewing their impressive final projects.
September 2019 Our Richmond team participated in the SportsBackers Walmart Biz Bowl, a corporate field day. UDig took home first place in the dodgeball tournament and second place overall within the Small Business category.
September 2019 UDig Lead Consultant, Ben Wunder, presented “Hyperledger Fabric Utilizing the Java SDK’ at the Richmond Java User Group. Ben first provided a high-level overview of blockchain and then introduced Hyperledger Fabric and how its consensus models can be leveraged within the confines of a federated group in a private setting.
September 2019 UDig was the proud presenting sponsor of Sportable’s National Wheelchair Basketball Association Tournament, the River City Classic, in Richmond. Sportable is a nonprofit in RVA dedicated to transforming the lives of those with physical disabilities and visual impairments through sport. We have valued our partnership with the organization and were excited to support such a great event!
August 2019 18 years is really something! We got our team together to celebrate the occasion internally. Our CEO and Founder, Andy Frank, shared his thoughts on UDig’s birthday: “Thank you to all of our clients and employees for making this possible. After 18 years, we realize that we don’t have all the answers but we are always working hard to deliver results for our customers and create an engaging, fun culture for our people.”
June 2019 Our team volunteered with Special Olympics Virginia at this year’s Summer Games. We had an awesome time watching athletes from all over the State of Virginia compete for track and field titles. After each event came to a close we awarded the athletes with their medals. This was such an awesome event and we are excited to be involved again next year!
June 2019 This year we had a record high participation from employees for the Anthem Corporate Run. We love to see our employees spending time with coworkers outside of the office. Our team may not have been the fastest, but we had a blast running in our orange and representing UDig!

May 2019 Steve MacLauchlan, Director of Advanced Insights, and Matt Taylert, Advanced Insights Consultant, presented “Achieving your Business Objectives through Machine Learning” at our headquarters. Their presentation focused on how machine learning can be applied to many industries to help discover insights in a company’s data.
May 2019 This year is the fourth year UDig has participated in Splatter that Matters, a corporate paintball tournament benefiting The Doorways. Our team always has a great time competing with all the organizations involved in this event.
