Back to insights

Richmond-based center designed to provide economical, efficient alternative to project delivery.

Today, UDig officially announced the opening of its Innovation Studio located in Richmond, Virginia (see pictures).  As announced last year, the organization has evolved from a history of IT staffing to delivering consulting services focused in the areas of technical strategy, information management and application services.

The addition of the Innovation Studio offers clients a team of experts to deliver prototyping, software development and project implementation in a secure, off-site location.

Andy Frank, UDig’s founder and CEO shared, “Our clients continue to turn to us to help deliver innovative solutions to their most challenging business problems.  Often, clients need technical experts that can deliver solutions off-site and want to realize the cost benefits the Richmond market affords.”

Andrew Duncan joined the firm as Director, Innovation Services and will lead the Innovation Studio.  He brings over 15 years of software engineering, architecture and software design experience to the role, with the last 10 years focused on managing the delivery of leading software.  “I’m excited to partner with our consulting team and bring my passion for building teams focused on modern technology stacks and best practices,” stated Duncan.

Jason Farmer joined UDig in 2015 to build the consulting practice and will continue as Director, Solutions Architecture.  Frank continued, “Jason has proven to be a valuable resource to our clients; this expanded role will allow for him to partner with our Business Development team to provide technical strategy, mentorship and help structure our engagements.”

Frank concluded, “I’m excited to offer our clients expanded services to ensure the success of their projects.  The combination of UDig’s highly skilled consultants, our technical design expertise and the Innovation Studio team’s ability to deliver will continue to deepen our relationships with clients and solve their technology challenges. ”

UDig consultants and associates leverage the Innovation Studio to provide prototyping, software development and project implementation.
